Hello! I just thought about something! I have seen on tumblr several blogs called "little things" or "things I love" that have a photo and in the center of it there is a word (eg Cheese, chocolate, summer etc). I think, if you all agree, that we can make a joined tumblrlog in which we can do the same: to name it "little orthodox things" or something similar, to post a photo and in the center of it we can write something (eg, like my attachment, a photo of Meteora and in the middle of it I wrote "Meteora"). We can do the same with icons, Saints, crosses, prayer ropes, Orthodox destinations etc.. We can update it once a week, or more rarely. All of you that have knowledge on how to handle the photoshop, you can help It's just an idea, maybe it's nice, maybe not... but what do you think? Catholics have millions of blogs like this. Why us Orthodox not to have one? Attachments:

Umm... Can you give some links to these blogs, just to see what's all about, directly at the source?
Thank you!

Yep, that definitely sounds good to me!
So, how will we do? Who creates the blog, who invites people etc?

That's a great idea!
I'll put up a test photo here later since I might have some fonts you might like. All of the blogs you gave as an example seem to have some transparency in the url text as well.

As I have created many blogs, I can't create another one (I mean I can but it's difficult to handle all of them). So, one of you can create it, and we can talk about ideas here

I can start making "Korean Orthodoxy" pictures . . . like this one catechumen.tumblr.com/post/31966141276/st-nicholas-in-seoulif this is the kind of thing you are talking about. Others can add pictures from where they are living so we can gather a collection of geographical orthodoxy pictures . . . what do you think?

It's a great idea Erik! Apart from geographical pictures, we can also use pictures of famous Orthodox Churches, religious items (incense, prayer rope, etc..). We just have to agree at what font we will use :-)

The idea loooks awesome. I am not good at things like this though (explaining my signature). Can anyone suggest some good free software for photo editing?

Try Photoscape, it's pretty good - I create my anigifs with it. (google it). Alternatively, I use mainly Corel PhotoPaint and, rarely, Photoshop... But they are not free.

GIMP is a program that is almost identical to Photoshop.

I might have a go when I get the chance. I love the simplicity of this concept.

Sorry I haven't been around, but this is an awesome idea! I can make lots of posts if you want.
Also we need to pass the word around to the other orthodox people we know on Tumblr who aren't on here.

Brilliant! I have seen images like this, but never collected and posted together, just here and there. The closest I have seen is the Hyperdox Herman meme's...

Also there is apparently a Eastern Orthodox Ryan Gosling on Facebook. I get the intent was meant in fun but I kind of feel it's bad to put words into his mouth.

Okay, so who wants to make the blog? Since I already have 3 Orthodoxy related blogs on tumblr it would be difficult to make another one. Who wants to make it and invite the rest of us to join? Then we can start making graphics! It's not necessery to update it every day, once a week it could be nice

Well, I guess I could unless someone else want's to. Maybe a couple of us could work together...since I am not that good at changing some of the settings.

OK, Sorry about double posting, but I made a simple one. I just created the account since I don't know what it should look like yet. I haven't put a description or anything yet. I also created a twitter. There's nothing much to see at the moment Just let me know if you want to help and what you want to help with. littleorthodoxthings.tumblr.com/ twitter.com/OrthodoxThings I made a Gmail account for it in case someone besides me want's to run things. It's LittleOrthodoxThings[@]Gmail[.]Com
