Yesterday I received this question:
"Do Orthodox Christians believe that Jesus Christ can audibly speak to them as some Roman Catholics do profess? Also, do they believe that Jesus makes appearances of Himself to them from time to time according to His Will?"
Though I have definatelly formed an answer in my mind, any additions of you could be really useful! Thanks!

Christ has appeared to people in the Orthodox tradition. Think of St. Silouhan the Athonite. Christ appeared to him.

I'm fairly sure that there was a time when Christ appeared to St. Seraphim of Sarov. There are multiple other instances, and I've heard of converts seeing visions of Jesus Christ. I hope God can grant me that honour one day.

I think the main difference between Catholic and Orthodox appearances is that in Latin ones, Christ always seems to appear and tell the Priest/Monk what to believe (always coinciding with Roman Doctrine) but in Orthodox appearances it is more spiritual advice or comforting, the same as Marian apparitions.

I've noticed that too about Catholic appearances of Jesus or Mary. Seems a tad suspicious to me, but eh.

I've noticed the same thing which never makes sense to me. Also, I would definitely say that Christ has appeared to Orthodox Christians; the most famous example (I would assume) would be when He spoke to St. Paul on the road to Damascus.
