I felt I should share this video. It really made me light up inside that Orthodoxy is experiencing a revival in Russia and Ukraine, especially after times of persecution.

It's great! I absolutely admire the Russian Orthodox believers, because they have suffered so much in the past, and yet they didn't abandon their faith. I also admire a lot the Ukrainian believers.

That is amazing! For my A Level history I studied Russian 20th century history as part of my course for two years and the persecution they faced was incredibly high so its miraculous that the faith has come out the other side so strongly! Its interesting how Orthodoxy, where its faced so much persecution, continues to flourish whereas in the West the main forms of Christianity seem to be in continuous decline without the threat of persecution.

Persecution is very characteristic of the Orthodox church. It's how we know we're on the right track! That's a great video, Vlad Thanks for posting.

Vlad, you should check out the movie 'Return of the Icon.' it is about when the Tikvin mother of God was returned to Russia a few years ago.
hundreds of thousands of people lined the streets to see it wherever it went. There is a small thing on youtube about it but the full movie is mindblowing.

That was an amazing video... I actually shed tears when I saw the part of the people watching their history of the churches being torn down and burned... Here in America we don't understand this... I can't even imagine that kind of persecution.. to see your house of worship torn down by force, to see your pastors or priests killed... friends and families... These people truly have been through a lot, but have come out of it better for it. Wow... that's all I can say frankly.
