Hi everyone,
I have heard people refer to themselves as "Christian Orthodox" and "Orthodox Christian."
which do you prefer to use?

Good poll! I usually use either/ or. I want to be able to just say "Christian" if I'm honest!

I am sorry, but I guess I cannot feel the subtleties here... But I guess Orthodox Christian is better, although when I say only "Christian", feels like saying "Orthodox". To me, "Christian" = "Orthodox" in my everyday life.

I usually find that if I just call myself a christian I am accused of many protestant ideals so i tend to say I am an Orthodox Christian.

I see what you mean Daniel. Here in Greece, thank God for this blessing, when you say "I am Christian" it automatically means Orthodox, because Orthodox Christians are the 98%, while other denominations are only small minorities.

Combined we are less than 1% of the population here but the numbers are increasing due to immigration and conversion from other Christian communities.

That is the main issue; whenever I say that I am Christian people either assume Roman Catholic or Protestant. When I say Orthodox Christian though they still think I mean Roman Catholic for some reason. The other night someone asked me what my faith was so I just said Greek Orthodox so they knew what I meant...but they still didn't connect me to Christianity which, I guess, they see as to be Christian means Protestant.
