I start this topic with the idea of that little girl in Pakistan in my mind ( theorthodoxchurch.info/blog/news/2012/09/christian-girl-hailed-as-daughter-of-nation-by-senior-pakistani-cleric/). Please, post here the countries in which the persecution against Christians and Christianity unfolds as we speak. Also, please post here the names of the Christians of our days, who are known to have confessed for Christ and then died for Him. May their memory be eternal; may they be always remembered, even through this forum. For instance, I shall begin, although the moment of their martyrdom has passed for some time now: Martyrs for Christ, on behalf of the Coptic Church of Alexandria: + Samira Soliman + Sonia Soliman + Martina Fekry + Mariam Fekry and others. Date and place of martyrdom: January 1st, 2011, Alexandria.Video: May they always rest aside their beloved God and Saviour, as well as ours, Jesus Christ, in the glory of God the Father and the comfort of God - the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Thanks for Posting this Andrei. It is always important, when saying the Doxologies of the great Martyrs of the Church, to remember that it is ongoing and not something which is stuck in the past or disappeared.
By the way, did you also post the cigarette advert that came up next to the video too?

As of this moment, I see a Clinton ad. I don't know... Maybe it got pasted in the code, or maybe this is the way there boards do, stuff us with ads...
So no, it wasn't my intention for an ad to appear next to holy things... Damn capitalism...

Here's the code of the post (replaced [ ] with () ):
Date and place of martyrdom: January 1st, 2011, Alexandria.(/b)(/color) Video: (youtube)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvS2oEhZ8lI(/youtube)
(b)May they always rest aside their beloved God and Saviour, as well as ours, Jesus Christ, in the glory of God the Father and the comfort of God - the Holy Spirit. Amen!(/b)
By the way, the ad now says "Follow President Clinton in Africa. Clinton Foundation". So it's not me.

It's terrible the amount people are being persecuted and martyred whilst the "free" countries do nothing to intervene. Thank-you for sharing this information Andrei, may all the martyrs pray for us, especially for those facing persecution.

Interestingly, today they had the service remembering the New Martyrs of the last year years.
HE Metropolitan Bakhomius said "“We meet today to remember our children who have died and walked in faith,” said Pachomius. “We remember them with our loved ones in Kosheh, Samalout, Imbaba, Al-Amraneya, and Nag Hammadi, They are martyrs of the era and we can not forget them. We live in a new era of martyrdom.”
“We salute their memory before the Lord and we must remember the divine promise of sacrifice, and the blood of our martyrs will remain the power of our faith.”
I think this summarises the current situation in the middle east well, we are indeed facing a new age of Martyrdom and persecution.

Please pray for The Martyr Wagdi Malak Hanna and The Martyr Ashraf Samy Adly, both killed in the Libya bombings this week.
May the heavens joyfully receive these martyrs as they join those before them who lost their lives in the Church of God.
